Key takeaways:

  • Dreamspace's no-code approach could accelerate Base adoption and attract retail developers to EVM chains.
  • Space and Time's integration with Azure provides institutional credibility, potentially boosting Base network's TVL.
  • Massive pre-launch adoption suggests Base is positioning as the preferred layer-2 for AI-powered dApp creation.

Microsoft-backed blockchain data infrastructure company Space and Time has officially launched Dreamspace, an AI-powered application builder designed to allow users to create and deploy on-chain applications and smart contracts without writing any code. The public launch on the Base network, a Coinbase-incubated Ethereum layer-2 blockchain, follows a beta period that began in August 2025, during which users created more than 34,000 applications.

According to Space and Time co-founder Scott Dykstra, Dreamspace is built to make deploying a fully functional, audited on-chain application simple. "It's about making it really easy to deploy an app that has a smart contract, where that smart contract is audited and you, as the creator, actually own it, sign it, and deploy it to an Ethereum-based chain," Dykstra said. He compared Dreamspace to the AI coding platform Lovable, but emphasized that Dreamspace is specifically for generating, auditing, and deploying smart contracts alongside the front-end applications that interact with them.

Dreamspace was built using Microsoft's Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI services. The platform’s front ends are hosted on Azure, while smart contracts can be deployed to any Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchain. The platform defaults to Base due to its support during the beta phase, as well as its ability to facilitate transactions costing less than one cent and settling in under one second. "We're building Base as an open stack for the global economy... making it possible for anyone to participate as a builder, not just a user, and especially using cutting-edge tools like AI," said Eric Brown, Head of AI Developer Relations at Base.

Founded in 2022, Space and Time is known for its decentralized data warehouse and verifiable compute layer, which ensures data integrity for deployed applications. Dreamspace integrates directly with this layer. The company has already onboarded approximately 140,000 students through the platform, and schools in Indonesia have reportedly created AI labs and curriculum centered around Dreamspace. The company plans to expand Dreamspace to other EVM-compatible chains, including Ethereum mainnet and Polygon, and is considering introducing a marketplace for pre-built app templates.
