Ripple has substantially increased its RLUSD stablecoin supply, minting $39.4 million worth of tokens over the past 24 hours. According to data from the Ripple USD tracker, $33.4 million RLUSD was created on May 18, with an additional $6 million minted early on May 19. The Ripple Stablecoin tracker on X reported that two large transactions on the XRP Ledger accounted for $31 million of the total — one for $16 million and another for $15 million. No RLUSD were burned during this period, contrasting with earlier activity this month when 32 million RLUSD were removed from circulation on May 15.
Following the latest minting, the RLUSD supply on the XRP Ledger reached $442,192,034, while the total circulating supply across all networks now stands at $1,611,422,372. The absence of burns signals uninterrupted supply growth and heightened stablecoin activity on Ripple’s networks.
Separately, Ripple’s Head of Engineering, J.A. Akinyele, issued an urgent notice to XRP Ledger validators ahead of an upcoming fix amendment in XRPL version 3.1.3, set to activate in approximately eight days. Only 44% of the network has upgraded to the new version, which includes a default-yes fix amendment. Node operators who fail to upgrade before the deadline will be amendment blocked, losing the ability to communicate with the network. The update, released on May 8, is critical for maintaining network consistency, and Ripple continues to push for broader adoption before the activation window closes.
