Injective’s native token, INJ, has surged past the $6 mark for the first time in 2026, buoyed by two significant ecosystem developments: the integration of native USDC through Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, and the launch of INJ staking on Binance US for U.S. retail users.
On May 29, INJ traded around $6.21, breaking above all four daily exponential moving averages (EMAs) in a single session—a technical breakout that coincided with the confirmation that native USDC is now live on the Injective mainnet. This integration gives the network direct access to Circle’s regulated $77 billion stablecoin ecosystem, enabling smoother liquidity for tokenized stocks, pre-IPO assets, and DeFi applications without relying on wrapped versions of the stablecoin.
The bullish move was further fueled by a sharp increase in futures open interest, which jumped 32.47% to $151.67 million. Short liquidations totaled $441,740 over 24 hours, nearly 1.5 times the $302,740 liquidated from long positions, reflecting a market caught off guard by the rally.
Price action had been building through April and May after a prolonged stretch in the $3–$4 range. A cup-and-handle pattern visible on the daily chart since December suggests technical strength, while volume during the breakout signaled renewed participation.
On the incentive side, Binance US introduced INJ staking for American users, a move that instantly added buying pressure. The token rallied approximately 12% within 24 hours of that announcement, as traders priced in the new yield opportunities. Already, about 58% of all INJ tokens are staked, and with U.S. retail now able to stake through a regulated platform, the liquid supply is tightening further, creating a supply-squeeze dynamic that favors price appreciation.
From a technical standpoint, INJ is currently consolidating between $6.20 and $6.40 resistance. A breakout above $6.40 with strong volume could open a path toward $6.80–$7.20 and potentially $8.00. Support is forming at $5.60–$5.80, with a deeper safety net near $5.20–$5.40 if the resistance holds.
