NewLimit, a longevity biotechnology company co-founded by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, has closed a $435 million Series C funding round, pushing its post-money valuation to $3.1 billion. This represents more than triple the valuation from its Series B less than a year ago.
The round was led by Founders Fund, with participation from new investors Thrive Capital, Greenoaks, and Quiet Capital, and returning backers Kleiner Perkins, Abstract, Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross, Valor Equity Partners, Eli Lilly Ventures, and Human Capital. The company plans to use the capital to advance its first epigenetic reprogramming drug into human clinical trials targeting alcohol-related liver disease in 2027.
Founded in 2022 by Armstrong, Blake Byers, and Jacob Kimmel (formerly of Calico), NewLimit focuses on partial epigenetic reprogramming — using transcription factors delivered via lipid nanoparticles to reset aged cells to a more youthful gene expression pattern without altering DNA. The company has only completed preclinical work and has no products on the market, making the valuation entirely based on early scientific results.
NewLimit has no connection to cryptocurrency or blockchain; it is a traditional biotech venture. Armstrong’s role is separate from his position at Coinbase. The raise underscores growing investor appetite for longevity medicine, even at an early stage.
