Fintech infrastructure provider GTN and Payward, the parent company of Kraken and developer of the xStocks tokenized equities framework, have announced a partnership to accelerate the global expansion of tokenized equities. The collaboration, announced on July 23, 2026, marks the next phase of xStocks, moving beyond its current offering of over 500 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs to include equities from international markets.
The partnership will begin by tokenizing equities listed in Hong Kong, then expand to UK-listed assets, European assets, South Korean assets, and potentially other regions. It also opens the door to tokenizing new asset classes beyond equities for the first time, enabling investors to hold a diversified, global portfolio onchain, tradeable 24/7, and portable across more than 100 exchanges, wallets, and DeFi applications where xStocks already trade.
GTN provides global execution, custody, and sub-accounting infrastructure for the traditional assets underlying xStocks. The firm spans over 90 markets and multiple asset classes through a single API. Subject to obtaining necessary licenses, GTN will also make a range of xStocks available to its institutional clients. Mark Greenberg, Global Head of Payward Services, said the partnership aims to make geography irrelevant to investing by bringing truly global capital markets onchain.
Since launching in June 2025, xStocks has amassed nearly 200,000 holders and powered over $35 billion in transaction volume. The GTN partnership is already live, with tokenized distribution to institutional clients expected once required licenses are secured. The companies plan to share details on enhanced offerings in the coming weeks.
