BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has reinforced its dominant position in the Bitcoin ETF market with a fresh $183.41 million purchase, signaling a resurgence of institutional appetite after a prolonged lull. Data from crypto monitoring firms showed the buy coincided with one of the biggest single‑day capital injections into its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) since July 6, when inflows last reached comparable levels.
The purchase was part of a broader wave of demand that swept across US spot Bitcoin ETFs on Thursday, July 31, 2026. Total net inflows for the day hit $233.1 million – the highest in more than three weeks – with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for nearly 79% of that sum. Bitwise’s BITB added $20.7 million and Fidelity’s FBTC contributed $15.5 million, while several smaller funds also saw modest gains.
The influx pushed the weekly total to $203.84 million, setting the stage for a fourth consecutive week of positive flows unless a sharp reversal occurs on Friday. July’s monthly figure climbed to $437.8 million, breaking a two‑month streak of multibillion‑dollar outflows and marking a notable turnaround for the Bitcoin ETF segment.
The renewed institutional buying comes as Bitcoin itself rebounded in July after two months of steady losses. The cryptocurrency posted a monthly return of 9.02% by July 31, briefly reclaiming the $65,000 level before retreating to around $63,700 amid persistent selling pressure. Despite the divergent price action, the influx of capital suggests conviction among large‑scale investors is returning.
Meanwhile, spot Ether ETFs also saw positive momentum, recording $13.3 million in net inflows on the same day. The funds have logged outflows on only five trading days in July, a sharp contrast to June when inflows occurred on just four sessions. Ether traded at $1,905 at the time of reporting.
