The GRVT token experienced a sharp price increase on Wednesday after South Korean exchange Upbit opened three spot markets for the asset. At the time of writing, GRVT traded at 500 won on the Korean won pair, marking an 11.11% gain according to Upbit’s own data. The surge came after a prior 23% rally in the hours before the official listing, with the token reaching $0.3235 on global platforms.
Upbit listed GRVT against the Korean won (KRW), Bitcoin (BTC), and Tether (USDT) at 17:00 KST on August 5, 2026. The exchange only supports deposits via the Ethereum network and published the official contract address to prevent network errors. To manage volatility, Upbit applied a five-minute buy order restriction and permitted only limit orders during the first two hours of trading. These controls mirror those used for other recent listings such as CFX and HOME.
GRVT is the native token of the Gravity blockchain, a project focused on cross-chain interoperability and decentralized finance. The token has a fixed total supply of one billion, with 110 million in circulation and a fully diluted valuation near $323 million before the Upbit event. It was already available on OKX, Bitget, Bybit, and Bithumb, but the Upbit addition provided direct KRW access for South Korean traders, substantially increasing market depth and visibility.
The immediate price jump highlights the typical short-term effect of major exchange listings, though sustained growth will depend on continued demand and the Gravity project’s roadmap. With a circulating supply of 110 million, the token’s market capitalization stood near $37 million prior to the listing.
