Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), the largest corporate holder of bitcoin, has formally joined a growing list of crypto and financial institutions — including Coinbase, Circle, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs — in pledging financial support to President Donald Trump’s Trump Accounts initiative. The announcement, made on August 5, 2026, marks another step in the company’s alignment with Trump’s economic and financial education agenda.
The Trump Accounts program, a new type of individual retirement account (IRA) for children, is designed to foster long-term saving and investing habits from birth. Under the program, children born between 2025 and 2028 are eligible for a one-time $1,000 seed contribution from the U.S. Treasury. The accounts will be invested in mutual funds or ETFs that track the S&P 500 or similar broad U.S. equity indexes, according to the Internal Revenue Service.
Strategy confirmed it will match the government’s $1,000 seed contribution for each eligible child. Moreover, the company will contribute an additional $250 annually to Trump Accounts for every eligible child under 18 of its U.S. employees, irrespective of the child’s birth year. The initiative is part of the broader Invest America effort to promote financial literacy.
This move follows earlier political support: in January 2025, when it was still known as MicroStrategy, the firm donated $1 million to the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. super PAC. Coinbase and Circle each contributed $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund, according to Public Citizen. Strategy’s CEO Phong Le emphasized that the Trump Accounts can “encourage financial education, long-term thinking, and a culture of saving and investing from an early age.”
The company will officially begin participating once the U.S. Treasury issues final guidance and the infrastructure for employer contributions is live. The pledge underscores the deepening relationship between the crypto industry and Trump’s financial initiatives, though it is not directly tied to cryptocurrency markets.
