MoonPay has integrated the TRON network into its Trade infrastructure, introducing gasless transactions that remove the need for users to hold TRX to cover network fees. The move targets the massive stablecoin ecosystem on TRON, which sees over $22 billion in average daily transfer volume. Until now, any user sending or swapping stablecoins on TRON had to maintain a TRX balance for gas costs. With MoonPay’s new system, those fees are absorbed within the transaction, allowing users to operate solely with the assets they hold.
The integration extends to the entire TRON ecosystem, including decentralized applications like SunSwap and JustLend. Trust Wallet is the first launch partner, offering its users gasless transactions on TRON through MoonPay’s Trade infrastructure. Justin Sun, founder of TRON, highlighted that the collaboration makes everyday onchain payments simpler, while Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of MoonPay, emphasized the removal of unnecessary friction for stablecoin users. The partnership also benefits developers and businesses by eliminating one of the most common barriers to onboarding new users.
Stablecoins like USDT dominate TRON’s network due to low fees and high throughput. This integration underscores a trend among payment processors to abstract away blockchain complexity, making transactions as seamless as traditional online payments. While other networks offer similar fee‑relay mechanisms, TRON’s sheer stablecoin volume amplifies the impact of MoonPay’s gasless feature, potentially accelerating real‑world adoption of onchain payments.
