Billionaire investor Tim Draper has reiterated his extraordinary long-term bullish view on Bitcoin, suggesting the cryptocurrency could go “infinite” against the U.S. dollar. In recent comments shared on X, Draper tied this outlook to increasing Bitcoin adoption and the ongoing shift toward crypto-based payments, emphasizing that as more businesses and consumers transact in Bitcoin, its utility and value could soar.
Draper’s forecast comes at a time when Bitcoin's use in everyday commerce is expanding. In March 2026, Square (now Block) began automatically enabling Bitcoin payments for eligible U.S. sellers, utilizing the Lightning Network to facilitate fast and low-cost transactions. Merchants can accept Bitcoin while settling in dollars by default, removing a major hurdle to adoption. This move is expected to raise Bitcoin’s visibility and lower the barriers for business acceptance.
Draper, who previously set a $250,000 price target for Bitcoin, acknowledged that earlier timelines have elapsed but remains confident in the asset’s trajectory. He pointed to monetary debasement and the need for a decentralized alternative as key drivers. “When you can use Bitcoin to buy food, shelter, and clothing, why would you want dollars?” Draper argued, underscoring the significance of payment integration.
The broader crypto market will monitor how payment adoption, institutional involvement, and monetary policy shifts affect Bitcoin’s demand. While the “infinite” notion is hyperbolic, the convergence of practical payment solutions and influential investor advocacy could reinforce Bitcoin’s status as a transformative financial asset.
