Kalshi Launches Low-Latency Order Book Data on DoubleZero Edge

Key takeaways:

  • Kalshi's institutional data feed could deepen Bitcoin perpetual liquidity and tighten price discovery.
  • Kalshi's 74.5% prediction-market share signals structural shift, but adoption hinges on undisclosed latency.
  • DoubleZero's Solana validator integration may amplify SOL's role in data infrastructure.

Kalshi has become the first prediction market to distribute its live order book through DoubleZero Edge, a low-latency market-data feed delivery platform running over dedicated fiber. The rollout, announced on Aug. 12, 2026, begins with Kalshi’s most actively traded sports event contracts and crypto perpetual futures, providing full market depth to subscribers.

The feed includes Level 1 data — top-of-book bids, asks, and completed trades — as well as Level 2 data, which shows orders across multiple price levels. DoubleZero Edge packages the information into a sequenced, machine-readable subscription product aimed at quantitative desks, market makers, and proprietary trading firms that need reliable inputs for pricing, hedging, and signal generation. Previously, firms often had to assemble Kalshi order book state themselves using API responses and custom infrastructure.

DoubleZero uses a multicast distribution model similar to traditional exchanges such as the NYSE, Nasdaq, and CME. Data is published once and delivered simultaneously to connected traders over dedicated fiber rather than the public internet. “Traditional finance got this concept exactly right: data access is a critical part of market structure,” said Austin Federa, co-founder of DoubleZero. “New Finance, like crypto, perps, and prediction markets, has been built without this infrastructure.”

As part of the commercial arrangement, Kalshi will waive its publisher revenue share for the first year. DoubleZero said data publishers typically receive a percentage of post-burn subscription fees, so the waiver lowers the initial cost of entry. However, subscribers must still pay network delivery fees. Neither company disclosed pricing, latency benchmarks, or the number of initial customers. Historical Kalshi data is planned for a future release but has no stated launch date.

Kalshi’s crypto perpetual futures include its Bitcoin perpetual contract, BTCPERP, which launched in June after receiving approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The contract follows Bitcoin’s spot price and remains open without a fixed expiration date. Kalshi has held CFTC designated contract market status since November 2020. According to Andy Ross, Kalshi’s head of institutional, the firms participating on Kalshi increasingly overlap with top-tier traditional market participants seeking institutional-grade connectivity.

The launch follows a broader expansion in prediction market activity. Combined July prediction-market volume reached $50.59 billion, up 7.8% from a revised June total of $46.95 billion, with Kalshi accounting for roughly $37.7 billion, or about 74.5%. DoubleZero previously launched its Edge public beta in April with 379 Solana validators publishing transaction data, representing about 43% of Solana’s staked supply at the time.
