Privacy-focused blockchain infrastructure company Beldex has secured an $8 million funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $36 million. The round, announced on August 20, 2026, was led by Sigma Capital with participation from NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund and EAK Ventures.
Beldex plans to use the capital to build encryption tools aimed at artificial intelligence agents, including shielded smart contracts and encrypted identities, while advancing research into fully homomorphic encryption, quantum-resistant consensus mechanisms and an EVM-compatible sidechain designed for sensitive data. The company will also deploy a browser extension wallet and software development kits to lower the technical barrier for developers adding encryption to their applications.
Sigma Capital managing director and CEO Vineet Budki said Beldex's long-term conviction stood out, adding that the firm is well positioned for the next era of Web3 where privacy is essential. Beldex COO Alex Mok Kong Ming said the company has evolved from building a functional privacy ecosystem into privacy infrastructure for consumers, developers and AI agents, and that data exposure will become a fundamental risk as AI becomes more autonomous.
The new raise follows $28 million in earlier funding from DWF Labs and Block Alpha in 2023. Beldex already operates BChat, BelNet, the Beldex Browser and BNS, and it plans to build bridges connecting its network to Ethereum, Solana and Base to preserve data privacy across blockchains.
