Onchain investigator ZachXBT said he may automatically reject future victim-support requests from seven jurisdictions based on his personal case-handling experiences: Canada, the UK, India, Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, and Bangladesh.
The remarks, reported by WuBlockchain, indicate a possible future policy rather than an active prohibition. ZachXBT described the listed jurisdictions as producing some of his worst experiences while handling crypto theft cases. He added that an upcoming website would restrict users from certain jurisdictions he considers “low quality” from accessing crypto support services.
The list complicates any simple narrative: the UK and Canada have established legal systems and active crypto sectors, but ZachXBT’s issue is how local agencies actually respond, treat evidence, and whether investigations lead to recoveries or arrests. India and Nigeria have large retail crypto user bases and high volumes of scam-related activity, while Morocco, Algeria, and Bangladesh present additional coordination challenges.
The proposed restriction highlights a structural gap: onchain investigators can trace funds, but asset recovery depends on exchanges, stablecoin issuers, and law enforcement. ZachXBT’s statement does not reflect government sanctions or court orders. No launch date, website address, eligibility rules, appeal process, fee model, or privacy policy has been disclosed yet. Victims can still use official reporting channels.
