Japanese crypto exchange Rakuten Wallet has announced a special giveaway for the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community at its upcoming Securities Investment Academy event in Fukuoka, Japan, on September 12, 2026. The announcement was shared in an X post directed at SHIB holders, featuring a presentation by Rakuten Wallet senior analyst Matsuda.
At the Rakuten Wallet booth during the event, the exchange will distribute “real SHIB coins” — physical metal souvenir coins that were first launched in July. These collectible items use sandblasting technology, described as a blast finish, and have no technical connection to the blockchain. A screenshot of SHIB holdings in Rakuten Wallet qualifies Shiba Inu holders to receive the physical coins.
Rakuten Wallet also said it plans to hold additional seminars in Sapporo and Osaka in October, where more physical SHIB coins will be distributed. The exchange has shown continued support for Shiba Inu since adding the meme coin to its lineup in April, allowing millions of Japanese users to convert Rakuten Points into SHIB and spend them through Rakuten Pay at approximately 5 million retail locations across the country. In June, shortly after the SHIB listing, Rakuten Wallet launched dedicated educational content with a video titled “Understanding SHIB”, also presented by analyst Matsuda.
At the time of writing, SHIB was down 3.61% over the last 24 hours, trading at $0.0000051, while the altcoin season index sat at 33/100, indicating Bitcoin-dominated market conditions.
