On September 2, 2026, the Wyoming Stable Token Commission adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), adding near real-time onchain reserve verification to the state's official stablecoin. The move deepens Chainlink’s role after Wyoming migrated FRNT cross-chain infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on August 18, 2026 under a multi-year contract.
The Network Firm will continue examining FRNT reserve assets and token supply under AICPA standards, while Chainlink publishes verified reserve data onchain in near real time. Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, said the adoption gives transparent, verifiable confirmation that FRNT is fully backed by high-quality reserve assets. Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, framed the rollout as evidence that governments can run verifiable onchain financial infrastructure at scale.
The Commission is also moving to adopt Chainlink Proof of Reserve Secure Mint, which would require verified reserves to equal or exceed total FRNT supply before new tokens can be minted. The control is designed to prevent over-issuance and infinite-mint attack paths. FRNT went live in January 2026 as the first stable token issued by a U.S. state, backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasury securities. Reserve income supports Wyoming’s School Foundation Program. FRNT operates on Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Hedera, Optimism, Polygon, and Solana.
Wyoming already exceeds federal transparency requirements under the GENIUS Act, posting daily attestations on its site. The Commission argues that continuous onchain reserve proof reduces blind spots between reporting cycles in fast-moving digital asset markets. Commercial terms of the Chainlink agreements were not disclosed, and no live Secure Mint timeline has been published.
