Cardano’s ecosystem pushed forward on multiple fronts this week as the Daedalus 11.3.0 wallet upgrade went live on mainnet and founder Charles Hoskinson called for completing key roadmap and governance milestones. The release, announced by Input Output Group, introduces a DRep Directory that consolidates Cardano delegate representatives into one place, along with new delegation tools and the Ariadne support portal aimed at improving user experience.
The Daedalus update matters for Cardano governance because delegation is one way ADA holders participate in selecting and supporting Delegate Representatives (DReps). Previously users had fewer integrated ways to discover delegates; the new directory reduces friction by making available DReps easier to find. Input Output Group described Ariadne as a new support portal, but did not provide additional details on its full functionality at this stage.
Separately, the Cardano Foundation drew attention to decentralized identity themes, including security risks tied to central databases and single sign-on providers, verifiable credentials, and post-quantum security, though that discussion ran parallel to the Daedalus release rather than as part of it.
Charles Hoskinson used a voting update for Cardano’s Constitutional Committee to emphasize that the network must “finish what we started.” He pointed to upcoming priorities including the Leios scalability upgrade and a related hard fork, as well as completing “the last mile of governance” and building institutions that can operate independently. According to Hoskinson, RealFi and the Bitcoin DeFi project Pogun have secured approximately $600 million in soft commitments, and RealFi could attract billions of dollars in total value locked over the coming years. Both Leios and RealFi are scheduled to launch later this year.
Despite those plans, ADA remains under pressure. The token is down 40.71% year-to-date and has fallen out of the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Cardano ranks 36th in total value locked, and unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin, it still has no spot ETF, limiting some institutional and retail access.
Some analysts see a potential short-term turnaround. Ali Charts flagged a new Tom DeMark Sequential buy signal on ADA’s daily chart, noting that previous signals preceded rallies of 44.5% on June 25, 11.5% on July 15, and 50.9% on August 18. ADA is trading near $0.20, roughly 94% below its all-time high of about $3 from September 2021.
The immediate Cardano news is therefore more about network tooling and roadmap execution than confirmed price direction. The Daedalus upgrade gives users better governance participation tools, while Hoskinson’s comments frame the ecosystem’s next phase around Leios, RealFi, and maturation of on-chain governance. ADA holders are left watching both the roadmap and market separately.
