Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 network Shibarium has expanded its infrastructure with the deployment of Safe v1.4.1, adding nine verified canonical contracts to its mainnet. The update was highlighted by longtime SHIB community member Mazrael, who reported that the contracts are live and verified on Shibariumscan, with safe-deployments PR#1666 opened to register the deployment.
According to the associated GitHub document, “Add Shibarium (chain 109) — Safe v1.4.1 canonical deployment,” the contracts were deployed via the Safe Singleton Factory at 0x914d7Fec6aaC8cd542e72Bca78B30650d45643d7. Because Shibarium already had Safe v1.3.0 registered through the eip155 deployment set, PR#1666 adds v1.4.1 at canonical addresses, meaning the SafeProxyFactory is at the same address as on every other canonical chain. As a result, Safes created on Shibarium share addresses with counterparts on other networks—something the existing v1.3.0 eip155 factory could not provide. Each address matches the repository’s canonical address, and each on-chain runtime code hash matches the published canonical code hash.
Safe is widely used for smart-account and multisignature wallet functionality, offering projects established tooling for managing assets and executing transactions through multiple signers. Mazrael noted that Safe reviews canonical-deployment registrations on a two-week cadence with monthly releases. The deployment also coincides with community pushback against claims that Shibarium is abandoned; Mazrael has previously stated the network remains operational, with infrastructure being maintained and migrated, although Shibarium Scan recently underwent a reset and had about 50% of blocks indexed after an outage and Cloudflare migration in August.
