1inch Launches on HyperEVM and Expands to Cronos with Gasless Cross-Chain Swaps

Key takeaways:

  • 1inch's HyperEVM and Cronos integrations target underserved EVM liquidity, yet cautious volumes demand adoption proof.
  • Gasless intent-based swaps could boost CRO and USDC usage if MEV protection attracts traders.
  • Watch Cronos DEX volume exceeding 3% share as key signal for 1inch integration success.

1inch has expanded its aggregation platform into two EVM ecosystems, announcing integrations with HyperEVM and Cronos on September 10, 2026. The HyperEVM launch introduces gasless swaps, intent-based execution, cross-chain transactions without traditional bridges, and self-custody options, alongside built-in MEV protection.

The Cronos integration, announced by Vladimir Kozlov, extends 1inch across its dApp, Wallet, Aqua and full API suite. Cronos offers full EVM compatibility, 0.5-second blocks, single-block finality and transaction fees below $0.001. Data from early September put Cronos total value locked at around $258.7 million, while aggregators were channeling only $100,000 to $150,000 in daily DEX volume, about 2% to 3% of network activity.

1inch's intent-based swaps allow users to specify desired outcomes while resolvers compete to execute orders, eliminating gas fees and natively protecting against MEV. Cross-chain swaps now consolidate bridge and swap steps into a single self-custodial operation. The Cronos ecosystem supports CRO and WCRO, native USDC and EURC, bridged WETH and WBTC, CDCETH, and tokens such as VVS, TONIC, LCRO, VNO and FUL. Native USDC, adopted through Circle CCTP in June 2026, represents 99.9% of the network's stablecoin base and offers a clean liquidity channel for 1inch-compatible chains.

The integrations could attract traders seeking improved functionality and efficiency, although initial market activity remained cautious. Social media interest around the announcements has been notable, and traders are watching whether adoption and trading volume increase in the coming weeks.
