Bitget is marking its eighth anniversary by doubling down on its Universal Exchange (UEX) strategy, positioning the platform as a multi-asset venue that combines cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities, forex, options and contracts for difference. The exchange said non-crypto assets accounted for as much as 40% of total trading volume over the past year, while traditional finance perpetual contracts and CFDs each surpassed $10 billion in daily trading volume.
As part of the expansion, Bitget highlighted its rToken product, which tracks traditional market assets through tokenized instruments. The company reported rToken crossed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch and has processed more than 3 million transactions, with roughly one in four new users now starting their trading activity through the product.
CEO Gracy Chen said crypto and traditional markets are converging, AI is changing the trading experience, and institutional participation is accelerating. The exchange also introduced AI Playbook, an autonomous trading agent designed to provide AI-assisted trading strategies.
Bitget said it is increasing its focus on security and institutional infrastructure. Proof-of-reserves coverage has expanded from four assets to 24 verifiable assets, and the August report showed a company-reported total reserve ratio of 122%. The Protection Fund had an average valuation of approximately $382 million in August. Institutional net assets rose 45% in Q2 2026 compared with the end of 2025, while core active market makers grew from 90 to 248 firms.
Bitget’s product timeline shows it launched USDT-margined futures in 2019, one-click copy trading in 2020, grid trading in 2022, and pre-market trading in 2024. It opened on-chain trading in April 2025, launched stock perpetual contracts in August 2025, and by September 2025 had listed more than 100 U.S. stock tokens powered by Ondo Finance. Contracts for difference arrived in January 2026, with rToken stock trading following in June.
The anniversary campaign includes KCGI 2026 with a 3 million USDT prize pool and a separate 50,000 USDT community reward pool. Founded in 2018, Bitget says it now serves 125 million users and employs more than 2,000 people worldwide.
