For years, Web3 gaming centered on putting tokens inside games—swords as NFTs, skins on-chain, play-to-earn rewards. But the next opportunity may sit outside games, in the creator economy around blockbuster releases such as Grand Theft Auto VI.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no official PC release date. That console-only window creates immediate attention, but Rockstar’s history—GTA V arrived on PC in April 2015, Red Dead Redemption 2 in November 2019—suggests a future PC launch could generate a second creator gold rush, particularly around hardware, modding, benchmarks, and cinematic content.
Wanted Network is positioning itself for that attention cycle. It is an independent creator campaign network starting with gaming, and its first major creator season is built around GTA 6. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. The platform uses Missions—structured creator opportunities with briefs, submission requirements, review, and rewards. Heat serves as a creator reputation score, while WNTD is the planned Solana SPL utility token intended for rewards, access, platform tools, and ecosystem participation.
The project’s current Prologue includes live GTA 6 creator Missions. Its whitepaper describes Sponsored Missions as externally funded campaigns where advertisers activate distributed creators through structured briefs. This separates reputation from economics: creators can publish on existing platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, or X, then submit work through Wanted Network, with crypto infrastructure underneath the familiar user experience.
Unlike previous play-to-earn models, the game itself does not need WNTD. Instead, the value proposition is tied to creator activity and the economy forming around GTA 6 attention, including the potential second wave if and when a PC version is announced.
