Anchorage Digital Bank has expanded its institutional custody platform to support Etherlink, an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible layer-2 network that settles on Tezos, along with seven assets issued on that network.
The newly supported assets include tokenized uranium xU3O8, wrapped XTZ (WXTZ), liquid staking token stXTZ, stablecoins USDT, USDC and USDSM, and wrapped Ether (WETH). The integration allows institutional clients to hold these assets in segregated custody accounts at the federally chartered U.S. crypto bank.
Anchorage said the addition moves its custody business beyond conventional cryptocurrencies into tokenized real-world assets. The most unusual asset is xU3O8, which represents fractional ownership of physical uranium oxide, or yellowcake, held in regulated storage facilities operated by Cameco. The token is designed to give investors economic exposure to uranium without direct handling, transportation or specialist storage. Traditional uranium markets can involve high minimum investments and lengthy settlement; Anchorage argues blockchain-based ownership can reduce settlement from weeks to minutes.
Market data placed xU3O8’s capitalization at slightly above $9 million, highlighting that the market for tokenized uranium remains small relative to tokenized Treasuries, credit and stablecoins. Nevertheless, the custody infrastructure is the key development: funds and professional investors typically require custodians that meet internal security, compliance and operational standards before allocating capital.
Anchorage is not the first institutional custodian to support xU3O8; Hex Trust integrated Etherlink in August 2025 and added custody for the uranium token. The new support still expands institutional channels and places xU3O8 alongside more established crypto assets within a federally regulated environment. For Etherlink and xU3O8, the test will be whether additional custody infrastructure translates into deeper liquidity and materially greater institutional participation.
