According to CoinGecko, Bitcoin (BTC) dropped 2.2% to $75,768.74 on $39.36 billion in volume, while its market capitalization stood at $1.52 trillion. Ethereum (ETH) fell 3.9% to $2,397.60, BNB declined 1.2% to $711.72, and XRP recorded the steepest loss among leading cryptocurrencies, dropping 8.1% to $1.29 on $5.93 billion in volume. Solana (SOL) lost 4.1% to $97.00, while TRON slipped 0.8% to $0.3348. Zcash (ZEC) resisted the decline, gaining 3.2% to $1,183.34, while Hyperliquid and Dogecoin fell 3.0% and 3.8%, respectively.
Smaller tokens attracted strong speculative demand. Cortex (CX) surged 124.8% to $0.03274, though volume remained modest at $1.81 million. Synapse (SYN) gained 123.6% to $0.1795 on $72.40 million in volume. Orbio.so, BLORB, Akedo, ALLINU, Edel, and Derive also posted sharp gains, while Lisk (LSK) rose 20.0% to $0.4915 and recorded $125.26 million in volume, the highest among listed gainers.
Broader regulatory and security developments added to market uncertainty. The Senate CLARITY Act faces a cloture vote as Democrats prepare a counterproposal, while Blockstream has refused to pay a ransom and is demanding the return of the remaining 598.5 BTC taken by a hacker.
