Key takeaways:

  • Binance widening bStocks collateral access may boost USDT leverage demand, deepening tokenized-equity liquidity.
  • Tokenized equity's 33x volume growth signals structural RWA adoption, yet custody risks threaten margin stability.
  • Large off-hours tokenized equity trading suggests 24/7 demand, pressuring traditional brokers and raising gap-risk.

Binance is expanding its tokenized equities lineup and collateral utility in a twin update announced around September 22, 2026. The exchange added 25 stocks and exchange-traded products to its Stock Trading platform from September 21 at 13:30 UTC. The new listings range from aerospace and defense names like Applied Aerospace and Defense (AADX) and HawkEye 360 (HAWK), logistics plays FedEx Freight Holding (FDXF) and ADI Global Distribution (ADIG), to energy and infrastructure firms including Fervo Energy (FRVO), Blackstone Digital Infrastructure (BXDC), INNIO (INIO) and ERock (EROC). Healthcare real estate is represented by Diversified Healthcare Trust (DHC) and Service Properties Trust (SVC). The batch also includes technology and services companies such as Alight (ALIT), Liftoff Mobile (LFTO), Cypherpunk Technologies (CYPH), RoboStrategy (BOT), Lincoln International (LCLN), Onterris (ONT), LGL Group (LGL) and United Guardian (UG), alongside ETFs including iShares Gold Trust Micro (IAUM), abrdn Silver ETF Trust (SIVR), Roundhill Photonics and Optics ETF (LYTE), Roundhill T-REX 2X Long DRAM (RAM), and two leveraged GraniteShares SK Hynix products (SKDD and SKUU).

At the same time, Binance said eligible users can now use bStocks as collateral in Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin accounts, removing an earlier restriction that reserved the feature mainly for VIP 3 accounts and above. bStocks are tokenized representations of listed stocks and ETFs, intended to be backed one-to-one by the corresponding security held with a regulated custodian. Holders can trade around the clock, convert between the token and the underlying share without a conversion fee, and in many cases receive dividend treatment through additional tokens. Traders can borrow quote assets such as USDT against bStocks and buy more tokens with leverage of up to five times, subject to haircuts and margin rules, or hedge equity exposure with futures in the same portfolio-margin account.

The product has grown rapidly since its June 2026 launch. Tokenized equity trading volume rose more than 33 times from January to August, and on Binance bStocks passed $30 billion in cumulative turnover in under 90 days. In July, the suite accounted for roughly 85 percent of tokenized-equity volume on decentralized exchanges. Assets under management climbed from a modest first-day base to hundreds of millions of dollars within weeks, with a large share of trades occurring outside US market hours. New listings become eligible for Fully Paid Securities Lending once trades settle on a T+1 basis. Orders are routed through Nest Trading Limited as introducing broker to clearing and custody partner Alpaca Securities; Binance does not handle or custody the underlying securities. Regular, VIP 1, and VIP 2 users must complete a suitability questionnaire before posting bStocks as collateral, and Binance may apply risk controls if tokenized-stock value dominates an account and lower-liquidity assets are leveraged. Availability remains subject to jurisdiction and eligibility, and bStocks do not confer direct ownership of the underlying company.
