Quant's QNT token delivered one of the strongest large-cap crypto performances of the session on September 27, 2026, rising roughly 39% over 24 hours and at one point trading up 75% to above $190 before retracing to around $160. The catalyst was The Clearing House selecting Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative, a partnership announced days earlier that focused attention on Quant's blockchain interoperability infrastructure.
The Quant move was not isolated. According to CoinDesk data, 93 of the 100 assets in the CoinDesk 100 traded higher during the rally, and an altcoin-season gauge hit its strongest reading in more than three months. Bitcoin, by contrast, held near the mid-$84,000 region after a volatile week in which it surged from around $80,000 to an eight-month high near $87,300, rejected that level, and twice found support around $83,000. BTC's market capitalization stood around $1.7 trillion, with dominance at 58.6%, while the total crypto market cap edged up to about $2.91 trillion.
The rotation dynamic was clear: Solana, XRP and other large altcoins had already been outperforming Bitcoin in the preceding week. During the session, SOL traded near $125 after a 3% gain, NEAR reclaimed $5 with a 5.4% jump, and ZEC climbed more than 8% to above $1,650. Other gainers included BTW, WLD, GRAM and GRAY, while ETH, BNB, LINK and HYPE posted modest gains. XRP, DOGE and TRX recorded minor losses.
Analysts cautioned that such altcoin surges can be amplified by short positioning, thinner liquidity and momentum rather than fundamentals alone. Rotations can also reverse quickly if Bitcoin breaks decisively higher or falls sharply. Still, the breadth of the rally suggests risk appetite is widening beyond the institutional Bitcoin narrative and into the broader market.
