XRP faces two near-term catalysts that could shape institutional demand and supply dynamics. Shareholders of Armada Acquisition Corp. II have until 5 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 28 to request redemption of public shares, with the merger vote scheduled for Sept. 30. The proposed business combination with XRP treasury company Evernorth Holdings would create a Nasdaq-listed vehicle under the XRPN ticker if approved and closed.
Redemptions are crucial because every redeemed share removes cash that Evernorth could otherwise consider for future XRP purchases. Armada's definitive proxy placed about $241.9 million in the trust on Aug. 20, with an illustrative redemption value near $10.52 per share. A separate Sept. 11 financing agreement added $30 million in 4% convertible senior payment-in-kind notes due 2031, but proceeds would arrive only at closing and may be used for general corporate purposes, including XRP purchases and ecosystem activity.
Evernorth is expected to hold at least 473,276,430 XRP at closing, combining previously purchased tokens and agreed contributions. Ripple has already contributed 126,791,458 XRP as part of the expected closing holdings. However, the final treasury and actual incremental XRP demand will depend on redemptions, expenses, and management's allocation decisions. The company previously reported buying 84,365,876.3625 XRP at an average price of $2.53657058.
Meanwhile, Ripple's monthly escrow mechanism can release up to 1 billion XRP on Oct. 1, though unused tokens are returned to new escrow contracts. This supply-side event could test whether institutional demand can absorb available tokens. US spot XRP ETFs drew $75.59 million of net inflows during the Sept. 21-25 week, taking cumulative inflows to about $1.79 billion, while Bitwise analyst Ryan Rasmussen reported strong adviser interest in XRP.
XRP traded around $1.48 on Monday after reaching above $1.62 last week. Analysts point to $1.60-$1.65 as a key resistance area, with about 1.99 billion XRP acquired near $1.60 and support in the $1.31-$1.35 region. The combination of the Evernorth vote and October escrow release could define near-term price direction, but the merger's measurable XRP-demand effect will come from disclosed cash deployment rather than the vote itself.
