Puffer Finance, an Ethereum infrastructure company building Puffer UniFi, has announced a partnership with Anchorage Digital, the company behind America’s first federally regulated crypto bank. Under the agreement, Anchorage Digital will serve as Puffer UniFi’s day-one institutional custodian and collaborate on stablecoin infrastructure, native settlement, and agentic payments.
The partnership is designed to combine Anchorage Digital’s institutional digital asset infrastructure with Puffer UniFi’s high-performance execution and settlement environment. Puffer UniFi supports high-throughput execution and real-time settlement while remaining connected to Ethereum L1 liquidity through synchronous composability, giving institutions faster execution without losing access to Ethereum’s liquidity and security.
The companies also plan to develop new rails for programmable payments and automated onchain financial activity. The announcement follows a separate partnership with Google Cloud, revealed one week earlier, in which Google Cloud joined Puffer Preconf as a registered gateway and Puffer UniFi became the first rollup to use that infrastructure.
Amir Forouzani, Co-Founder of Puffer Finance, said the collaboration creates rails for stablecoins, payments, and agentic financial activity while remaining composable with Ethereum. Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, said institutions want to hold assets, move stablecoins, and settle transactions onchain with familiar security and controls, and that serving as custodian from day one puts those foundations in place at launch.
Puffer Finance is backed by Ethereum Foundation, Electric Capital, Brevan Howard Digital, Coinbase Ventures, YZi Labs, F-Prime Capital, and Franklin Templeton. Anchorage Digital is funded by Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with a valuation of $4.2 billion.
