Key takeaways:

  • Institutional speakers signal Ripple's push to embed XRP and RLUSD into traditional finance infrastructure.
  • RLUSD's $2.5B reserves growth may strengthen XRP sentiment, but watch custody concentration risks.
  • Consolidated Swell event suggests Ripple is accelerating institutional adoption, a structural rather than seasonal narrative.

Ripple has unveiled the speaker lineup for Swell 2026, bringing senior executives from BNY, Intercontinental Exchange, TD Securities and Robinhood to New York. The company expects around 1,500 participants and will combine Swell, the XRP Ledger-focused Apex summit and UBRI Connect under one event for the first time.

The guest list reflects different layers of financial infrastructure that Ripple increasingly wants to connect: custody, trading, liquidity, stablecoins, tokenized securities and consumer access.

BNY’s Laide Majiyagbe is scheduled to discuss how tokenized money-market funds, stablecoins, liquidity and settlement are changing institutional markets. BNY already serves as the primary custodian for Ripple’s RLUSD reserves, a relationship that has gained relevance as those reserves recently reached about $2.53 billion, with circulating supply above $2.4 billion.

ICE’s Michael Blaugrund, vice president of strategic initiatives and former NYSE COO, will address institutional adoption across tokenized equities, onchain funds and collateral.

TD Securities’ Elizabeth St-Onge will join a stablecoin discussion focused on whether future digital money will be dominated by individual issuers or consortium-based models. That topic sits alongside Ripple’s expanding stablecoin business, where RLUSD is increasingly used in institutional liquidity stacks involving payments, tokenized assets and proposed XRPL lending infrastructure.

On the distribution side, Robinhood crypto chief Johann Kerbrat will speak with Ripple President Monica Long about the convergence of retail and institutional access to digital assets.
