Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson teased the network’s Leios scalability upgrade on October 5, 2026, as ADA gained 12% to reach $0.27, its highest level in five months. Hoskinson shared an ADA/USDT price chart on X with the hashtag #LeiosIsComing, showing the token climbing from approximately $0.244 to $0.264 during trading.
The rally was accompanied by growing interest in Cardano’s RealFi platform, which launched its mainnet on October 1 and targets real-world asset tokenization. USDr stablecoin integrations also expanded into Lace, Liqwid, and SundaeSwap, increasing the asset’s presence across Cardano applications.
ADA’s daily chart recorded a golden cross, with the 50-day moving average moving above the 200-day moving average. The daily relative strength index climbed to 68.69, approaching overbought territory. Short liquidations occurred near $0.264, supporting the upward move.
Leios, outlined in CIP-164, aims to increase transaction throughput while preserving Ouroboros Praos for network security and block ordering. The design introduces larger endorser blocks that stake pools verify using BLS signatures before transactions enter the ledger in batches. Testing on the Musashi Dojo network has been ongoing since June 2026, with reported results showing a sixfold improvement in data processing speed under stable conditions and potential gains between tenfold and 65-fold.
Cardano targets Leios integration for late 2026 through the Dijkstra hard fork, subject to on-chain governance. Stake pool operators will need to register keys manually, and network parameter changes will increase throughput gradually. Despite ADA’s gains, Cardano decentralized exchange volumes have not risen proportionately, leaving trading activity behind the price movement. ADA faces its nearest resistance at $0.28, while Leios remains in testing ahead of planned mainnet integration.
