Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Cardano are at a technical crossroads after sharp declines triggered four-hour TD Sequential buy signals. The signals point to possible exhaustion of selling pressure, but momentum indicators and resistance levels suggest the rebounds are not yet confirmed.
On October 8, Ali Charts noted that Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP all flashed four-hour TD Sequential buy signals. Bitcoin's signal appeared after it fell 5.55% from $86,976 on October 5 to $82,150. Ethereum dropped 7.36% from $2,738 to $2,537, while XRP declined from $1.53 to $1.39. CoinGecko data at the time placed Bitcoin at $82,272.09, down 1.26% over 24 hours and 1.96% over seven days, with daily volume near $33.78 billion. Ethereum traded at $2,528.90, down 1.45% over 24 hours and 6.56% over the week. XRP was at $1.39, down 2.81% over 24 hours and 6.56% weekly.
Analyst Gerla pointed to a large long-liquidation pool around Bitcoin and said a final flush toward $80,500–$82,000 could occur before recovery. The key reclaim level for Bitcoin sits at $82,500, with an upside target near $87,000. For Ethereum, support around $2,550 is critical, with upside watch levels at $2,620 and $2,650. Mister Crypto noted elevated open interest and negative funding on some exchanges, warning that leverage building at support could produce a sharp move in either direction. XRP is testing a key trendline support, with its MACD described as deeply oversold by analyst Wealthmanager.
By October 9, Bitcoin was recovering from a decline toward $80,000 and testing resistance near $83,000. A sustained break above that level could open a path toward $85,000–$86,000, while losing $80,000 would expose $78,000. XRP recovered from $1.31 and is testing resistance around $1.39; a confirmed breakout could support a move toward $1.46, while failure could keep price between $1.31 and $1.39 and open downside toward $1.27 and $1.25. Cardano rebounded from around $0.22 and is nearing resistance at $0.242, with a break targeting $0.258 and rejection risking a pullback toward $0.235 or $0.22.
Momentum indicators remain cautious. Bitcoin's RSI at 40.583, Stochastic at 48.769, Ultimate Oscillator at 42.293, and Bull/Bear Power of -1,197.6041 all show that sellers retain an edge despite the bounce. XRP's RSI of 37.263 and Bull/Bear Power of -0.0434 also suggest bearish pressure, while Cardano's RSI of 41.574, Stochastic at 33.836, Ultimate Oscillator at 34.922, and Bull/Bear Power of -0.0182 point to continued weakness. The buy signals therefore suggest a possible rebound, but traders are watching the resistance tests to see whether buyers can regain control.
