Stablecoin activity is accelerating across major blockchain networks, with Tron and USD Coin (USDC) posting standout data points in October 2026. According to crypto data provider Token Terminal, the stablecoin market cap on Tron expanded by $633.6 million in one week, far outpacing other networks. OP Mainnet, X Layer, and Base trailed with increases of $64.1 million, $61.9 million, and $57.8 million, respectively.
The surge underscores Tron’s growing role as a hub for stablecoin liquidity and decentralized applications. The network’s ability to attract such a large weekly inflow suggests that traders and investors are increasingly turning to stable assets during periods of broader market uncertainty. The evolving regulatory landscape for stablecoins may also be directing more activity toward established networks like Tron that support high-volume stablecoin transfers efficiently.
Separately, USDC recorded $40.2 billion in decentralized exchange trading volume across weekends in the third quarter, equivalent to a median of $1.37 billion per weekend day. Token Terminal highlighted this as evidence of USDC’s utility when traditional banking rails slow down. Issued by Circle and pegged to the U.S. dollar, USDC is becoming a preferred vehicle for weekend DEX liquidity, and traders are expected to watch whether this trend leads to further adoption and integration across DeFi platforms.
