Binance bStocks Cross $1 Billion AUM in Record Four Months

Key takeaways:

  • bStocks' $1B AUM signals tokenized equities shifting from novelty to structural, 24/7 collateral demand.
  • Only 38% bStocks volume in U.S. hours signals self-custody, 24/7 settlement demand.
  • Collateralizing bStocks with 5x leverage risks liquidation cascades, warranting caution despite $40B volume.

Binance’s tokenized equity product, bStocks, has crossed $1 billion in assets under management roughly four months after its June 11, 2026 launch, according to company statements and on-chain data from Dune Research. The product initially went live with five listings and now offers nearly 100 tokenized U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs.

Each bStocks token is backed 1:1 by the underlying security and can be redeemed for the security itself rather than cash value, a structure Binance says keeps token prices tied to their stock equivalents. Users have moved approximately $6 billion between direct stock positions and bStocks at 1:1 parity, avoiding broker transfers and U.S. market hours. Cumulative trading volume has exceeded $40 billion since launch, averaging more than $300 million per day.

Shunyet Jan, Binance’s Head of Exchange and Trading, said the real test of a tokenized stock is whether it still behaves like a market after launch. “Today, more than a billion dollars of that is held on Binance, and it’s being used, not just held,” Jan said.

The milestone highlights shifting behavior in tokenized equities. In July, only 38% of bStocks volume occurred during regular U.S. trading hours, compared with 89.2% for conventional U.S. equities, reflecting demand for around-the-clock on-chain settlement and self-custody transfers. Binance also said tokenized equities were the fastest-growing real-world asset category of 2026, with market capitalization more than quadrupling to over $3 billion by late September. On-chain transfers of tokenized stocks surpassed $100 billion in Q3, up from $6 billion in Q1, with bStocks accounting for more than 90% of weekly transfer volume at an early-August peak.

Last month, Binance opened bStocks collateral support to all eligible users, allowing retail traders to post supported tokens as margin and futures collateral with up to 5x leverage. The product is offered through an Approved Prospectus in Abu Dhabi Global Market and is available only to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions; it is not available to U.S. persons and does not grant direct ownership of underlying company shares.

The record pace of bStocks adoption underscores growing interest in tokenized real-world assets and could support further expansion of exchange-based tokenized equity trading.
