Bybit announced on October 15, 2026 that its Spot exchange now supports Percentage of Volume (POV) orders, extending a feature already available to Futures traders since May 2026. The exchange said POV orders help traders and institutions execute large buy or sell orders with more control by automatically splitting them into smaller trades and adjusting sizes in real time based on market volume or order-book liquidity.
According to Bybit, the POV order type gained significant traction after its Futures launch, recording 9x growth in its user base and an average monthly trading volume per capita above $300,000 during the first four months. The spot version aims to provide similar benefits for large spot trades, reducing slippage and limiting the market impact that large orders can create.
Key features include VWAP-style execution, enhanced discretion from high-frequency traders, a choice between aggressive Taker and fee-efficient Maker execution, built-in slippage control, and flexible stop conditions such as maximum duration or total quantity. POV orders are driven by a participation rate that determines the percentage of market volume or available order-book depth an order will execute against. When trading activity is low, execution slows, and when activity increases, execution speeds up to maintain the target participation rate.
Bybit Spot users can select POV from the order-type menu on supported trading pairs and customize participation rate, order frequency, and stop conditions. The exchange said no additional strategy fees apply, and standard Spot trading fees remain applicable.
