Bitget has updated its English Terms of Use as of October 16, 2026, adding Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan to its list of prohibited jurisdictions. The exchange confirmed that users located or operating in those countries are now ineligible to use its services, describing the move as a one-off compliance exercise.
According to public statements highlighted by WuBlockchain, affected customers will receive individual notifications via email, in-app messages, or push notifications. Each notice is expected to include account-specific deadlines, withdrawal instructions, and support guidance. One user reporting on X said their account-specific notice set a deadline of October 21, although Bitget did not publish a platform-wide cut-off date or disclose the total number of affected accounts.
Bitget emphasized that user funds remain safe and pointed to its asset-verification option and customer support team for assistance with withdrawals, pending orders, and other account-related questions. The company also warned users to check only official channels for updates and to be wary of phishing links and impersonation accounts. The service announcement did not identify a specific regulatory order behind the terminations, but the support account cited compliance with various countries’ regulations.
Customers who did not receive an official notice may continue using their accounts as usual, subject to platform terms. The exchange described the affected group as limited and said it plans to continue global growth as a universal exchange. The update follows a separate September 24 wallet breach in which Bitget said approximately $387.5 million had moved to attacker-controlled addresses. Bitget did not link the new service restrictions to that incident, and trading volume details were not immediately available over the last 24 hours.
