Chainlink’s LINK token has become the focus of a widening technical debate after a powerful 122% rally gave way to a pullback that is now testing one of the most important support zones on the chart. After climbing from a visible low near $7.10 to a high around $15.80, LINK has entered a corrective phase, with traders closely watching the $12.10–$12.90 demand zone. A successful defense of this area could preserve the broader recovery structure and set up another attempt at the $14.50–$15.80 resistance zone.
According to the bullish scenario, a confirmed daily breakout above $15.80 would signal that buyers have regained control of the trend. If that level is cleared and held on a retest, the next upside targets are near $18.17 and $20.15. From the chart price of $13.38, a move to $20.15 would represent roughly 50.6% upside. However, the bullish case depends on defending key support. A daily close below $12.10 would weaken the structure and shift attention toward $11.45 and the 0.618 Fibonacci level near $10.42.
A separate technical warning from analyst Ali Charts suggests the risk may be even larger. The analyst said Chainlink appears to be forming a head-and-shoulders pattern on the four-hour chart, and a sustained close below $12 could confirm the bearish setup. In that scenario, the first downside target is $10, followed by a potential move toward the pattern’s main target of $8.50, a decline of roughly 30% from current levels.
Beyond the short-term chart, Chainlink’s long-term narrative continues to expand. Crypto market commentator Our Crypto Talk highlighted that Swift, DTCC and more than 50 banks now connect with Chainlink infrastructure. Its product suite includes the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), Proof of Reserve and Smart Value Recapture (SVR). Swift activated a blockchain ledger with 17 banks in July 2026, including HSBC, Citi and UBS. DTCC is developing a collateral application blockchain with Chainlink targeting a fourth-quarter 2026 launch. Project Pangea involves more than 50 banks and over $10 trillion in assets under management, while tokenization work with SIX Group covers more than €2 trillion in European equities.
Supply-side factors are also part of the debate. LINK has approximately 767 million circulating tokens against a maximum supply of one billion. At its May 2021 peak of $52.70, that circulating supply would imply a market capitalization near $40 billion, compared with roughly $9.2 billion today. The Chainlink Reserve, launched in August 2025, held approximately 6.12 million LINK at an average cost near $11.21 by early October 2026. Chainlink has reported more than $110 billion in total value secured and over $30 trillion in cumulative transaction value enabled, while Grayscale’s GLNK launched in December 2025 and Bitwise’s CLNK followed in January 2026, adding further mechanisms that could affect circulating supply.
