Key takeaways:

  • Crypto.com's prediction-market push may boost CRO utility sentiment, but regulatory risks remain key.
  • Institutional access via CFTC-regulated contracts could deepen liquidity, signaling structural maturation beyond retail crypto trading.
  • Watch OG.com integration execution; delays could temper sentiment, while successful routing may attract hedge-fund flows.

Crypto.com has expanded its prediction market strategy on two fronts, unveiling a consumer-facing product and a separate institutional distribution agreement. On October 19, 2026, the exchange announced Predict Pro, a platform designed to move beyond traditional yes/no prediction market formats and offer traders more nuanced ways to engage with forecasts.

The following day, Crypto.com Exchange and OG.com signed a memorandum of understanding with River Markets to give institutional investors access to regulated U.S. prediction markets. The arrangement combines OG.com’s CFTC-regulated event contracts with Crypto.com Exchange’s spot market liquidity. River Markets’ clients, including hedge funds and quantitative trading desks, will be able to trade contracts covering macroeconomics, finance, sports, politics, and culture through a single platform.

River Markets, a San Francisco-based institutional prime brokerage, said its order-routing technology has processed more than 150 million contracts and allows traders to operate across different prediction market platforms without building separate systems. OG.com, originally established by Crypto.com but spun off as an independent platform in September 2026, operates a Designated Contract Market and a Derivatives Clearing Organization supervised by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Iskandar Vanblarcum, Managing Director of Crypto.com Exchange, said the partnership will give institutional traders access to digital asset markets and professional trading infrastructure. Steve Humenik, Chief Legal Officer of OG.com, said the integration will allow portfolio managers to trade and hedge macroeconomic risks through regulated contracts. Oscar Levy, co-founder and CEO of River Markets, said the company aims to combine trade execution, risk management, and order routing on a single platform. No specific launch date has been announced.
