Whale Activity Fuels Bitcoin, XRP and Cardano Rebound

Key takeaways:

  • BTC's tripled inflows with price gains suggest whales are trading, not dumping; expect volatility.
  • XRP's 49B ledger volume surge signals speculative interest; sustainability depends on holding above $1.32 support.
  • ADA's doubled $1M+ whale transactions signal growing institutional interest; small sample size warrants caution.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez has pointed to a sharp rise in cryptocurrency exchange inflows as a possible driver behind the recent rebounds in Bitcoin (BTC), XRP, and Cardano (ADA). According to Martinez, large investors, commonly called whales, may be exerting meaningful influence on short-term price movements across these assets.

Data highlighted by the analyst showed Bitcoin exchange inflows climbed from approximately 7,682 BTC to 25,124 BTC, more than tripling within a two-day period. During the same window, Bitcoin’s price rose from around $81,200 to an intraday high of $83,407. Martinez noted that similar on-chain activity appeared in the XRP and ADA markets, strengthening the possibility that large investors are playing a significant role in current market conditions.

For XRP, the rebound came near the $1.25 support level. XRP Ledger transaction volume reportedly surged from roughly 215.87 million to 49.17 billion as the token gained about 5.10% to $1.32. Cardano saw whale transactions worth more than $1 million increase from approximately 24 to 51, while ADA rose 5.51% from around $0.21 toward $0.23.

Martinez set immediate price targets of $86,500 for Bitcoin, $2,700 for Ethereum, and $1.55 for XRP, adding that a break above those levels could extend the rally further. However, he also cautioned that large transfers to exchanges do not necessarily mean direct selling, as they may be made for investment or liquidity management purposes. The available on-chain data does not definitively prove intentional market intervention.

Key levels: BTC $86,500, ETH $2,700, XRP $1.55. The analyst’s assessment suggests whale activity is an important indicator to monitor for short-term market direction.
