On-chain trackers have recorded a large Bitcoin movement involving market maker and over-the-counter desk Wintermute. According to Lookonchain, three newly created wallets received a combined 1,089.77 BTC worth about $90.38 million when Bitcoin traded above $82,000. The individual transfers were 364.09 BTC, 363.64 BTC, and 362.04 BTC. Each destination address received a small test transaction of between 0.0002 BTC and 0.0003 BTC before the main transfers, with the first two principal movements occurring in the same block and the third shortly after midnight.
The activity follows a separate Wintermute movement on October 14, 2026, when five fresh wallets received 1,162 BTC worth roughly $96.77 million over about 12 hours. Combined, the one-week total reaches approximately 2,252 BTC, valued near $187 million. Some reports citing the latest movement round the figure to about 1,127 BTC or $93.45 million, underscoring continued whale-level activity.
Lookonchain described the wallets as newly created and noted the flow as evidence of large holders accumulating Bitcoin. However, the on-chain record alone does not prove that the destination addresses are controlled by a single buyer, represent long-term cold storage, or reflect a directional market bet. Wintermute operates both market-making and OTC services, so withdrawals into fresh addresses may equally reflect OTC trade settlement, custody arrangements, collateral management, or other operational needs. Still, the repeated use of new wallets and the pace of transfers are being watched closely by traders as a potential signal of broader accumulation interest.
