XRP Ledger network participation showed a sharp increase on October 21, with multiple on-chain metrics reaching unusual levels. According to XRPScan data cited by 36Crypto, active accounts reached 25,700, a 12% rise within 24 hours and well above the 30-day average of 18,600 accounts. New account registrations rose 35.6% to approximately 4,500, suggesting that the surge was driven mainly by existing wallets returning to activity rather than entirely new users.
Total transactions climbed 55.9% to 3.5 million, while successful transactions increased 67.8% to 2.9 million. Transactions per ledger rose 61.5% to 179.34, and network fees burned increased 20% to 747.6 XRP. However, payment activity moved in the opposite direction: payment transactions fell 4.4% to about 741,900, and total payment volume dropped 49.6% to 350.9 million XRP. A separate active-user metric declined 50% to 85,200, highlighting a mixed picture of participation.
Santiment reported that the number of XRP wallets with a balance greater than zero reached a new all-time high of 8.24 million. On a single day, 4,772 new wallets were created, the fifth largest daily increase since March, while XRP traded near $1.36. Santiment said continued network growth could support bullish expectations only if price action confirms the trend.
On the price side, XRP traded near $1.33 to $1.36. The first key resistance was seen around $1.40; a sustained move above that level, with daily new wallets staying around or above 4,000, could open the way toward $1.50. Conversely, losing the $1.30 support level and seeing daily new wallet creation fall below roughly 3,000 could weaken the adoption signal.
