Canton Strategic Holdings announced an agreement with TSV LLC and SEC-registered transfer agent Fairmint to make its Nasdaq-listed common stock available for tokenized trading on the Canton Network, with trading expected to begin as soon as Monday.
The move could deliver the first tokenized equity trades under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s new tokenization framework, potentially ahead of the joint initiative by OKX and ICE. TSV said it formally notified the SEC of its intent to operate a tokenized securities venue before the OKX-ICE venture submitted its own notice.
Because Canton Strategic Holdings is directly sponsoring its own tokenization, TSV can bypass the 30-day issuer notice-and-objection process that applies when third parties tokenize shares. The venue plans to use the Tradecraft protocol on Canton Network for 24/7 trading with atomic settlement, operating under the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption for approved participants.
Fairmint will oversee transfer compliance, and token holders are expected to receive the same rights and privileges as investors holding CNTN shares through Nasdaq. TSV CEO Ali Abrar said the first listing should establish a benchmark, while Canton Strategic Holdings Chairman and CEO Mark Wendland said tokenization can improve market access and transparency.
