Polygon Labs has officially expanded its Open Money Stack payment infrastructure to Solana, giving businesses building on the rival network a single integration to connect bank accounts, digital wallets, cross-chain transfers and global payouts. The announcement was shared on October 29.
The expansion targets a persistent payments problem: moving funds from a bank account into a wallet, converting assets and paying them back out typically requires stitching together multiple providers. Polygon’s stack collapses that into one technical connection and one commercial relationship. Businesses can adopt the entire Open Money Stack or choose individual components to work alongside their existing systems.
Through the platform, a Solana-based business can connect supported bank transfers, card payments, cash services and cryptocurrency funding routes directly to its products. It can spin up embedded wallets, route and convert funds across Polygon, Ethereum, TRON and several Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible chains, and deliver payouts into bank accounts, cards, cash services or crypto wallets.
Financial technology firm Kira is among the first adopters of the Solana integration. Kira serves fintech companies, over-the-counter trading desks and import brokers that manage international payments. The company uses Solana for stablecoin transfers and will use Polygon’s banking connections to convert those transfers into dollars in client bank accounts for supplier payments. Kira CEO and co-founder Edrizio De La Cruz said: “Working with Polygon helps us turn those transfers into dollars in our clients’ bank accounts when they need to pay suppliers.”
The move builds on Polygon’s earlier addition of TRON support on October 8 and its acquisition of crypto-cash firm Coinme, which brought 37 state money transmitter licenses and 11 applicable exemptions, covering 48 U.S. states. Polygon Foundation co-founder and CEO Sandeep Nailwal said: “Adding Solana means more businesses can build on the network their customers choose and use Polygon to handle the money movement around it.”
Polygon Labs said Polygon Chain has processed more than $3 trillion in cumulative stablecoin transfer volume, while Solana has handled more than $5 trillion in stablecoin volume during 2026, according to Solana Foundation Chief Product Officer Vibhu Norby. Norby added: “Polygon Open Money Stack provides another path for businesses to access these capabilities, complementing the infrastructure and payment solutions already available across the Solana ecosystem.”
The integration also follows Solana’s institutional payments momentum, including the release of an institutional settlement standard with input from J.P. Morgan and its Alpenglow upgrade.
