Franklin Templeton has announced the launch of two exchange-traded funds that combine exposure to U.S. equities with Bitcoin through a systematic dividend reinvestment strategy. The new products, Franklin U.S. Equity Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF (FBEQ) and Franklin U.S. Innovation Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF (FIBT), will be listed on Nasdaq and will start with an allocation of 95% to equities and 5% to Bitcoin.
According to the asset manager, the indexes underlying both funds will review their Bitcoin exposure quarterly to keep it as a secondary allocation. FBEQ will track an index of roughly 500 of the largest U.S. companies by market capitalization and carries an annual fee of 0.09%. FIBT will provide exposure to 100 major non-financial companies listed on Nasdaq, with a fee of 0.19%.
The funds will not purchase Bitcoin directly. Instead, they will gain indirect exposure through shares of a Franklin Templeton-affiliated Bitcoin exchange-traded product and derivatives. Dina Ting, Head of Index Investments at Franklin Templeton, said investors are looking for new ways to incorporate Bitcoin into diversified portfolios through systematic strategies. Franklin Templeton oversaw more than $1.79 trillion in assets as of the end of September 2026.
