Ondo Finance Launches BlackRock-Inspired Tokenized Portfolios on Solana

Key takeaways:

  • Watch whether Ondo’s Solana expansion sustains inflows beyond the initial $40M TVL.
  • BlackRock branding may boost ONDO sentiment, but disclosed fee conflicts warrant investor due diligence.
  • Limited minting hours could constrain DeFi composability, tempering bullish SOL tokenization expectations.

Ondo Finance expanded its Intelligent Portfolios to Solana on October 29, 2026, launching seven tokenized investment strategies that provide exposure to income, growth, technology and artificial-intelligence themes through single blockchain tokens.

The lineup includes three allocation models developed by BlackRock for Ondo — BLKHIon (high income, bond-focused), BLKGRWon (high-growth allocation) and BLKDIGon (diversified growth) — alongside four internally designed strategies: MAG7Xon, BRAINon, YLD5on and YLD8on. Each portfolio bundles tokenized stocks and ETFs from Ondo Stocks, with smart contracts handling allocations, periodic rebalancing and fees.

BlackRock’s role is limited to providing nondiscretionary investment models to Ondo’s specifications; it does not sponsor, manage or exercise discretion over the tokens. Ondo Global Markets implements the strategies, and some holdings may include BlackRock-managed funds that pay fees to BlackRock affiliates, a potential conflict of interest disclosed in product documentation.

The Solana launch follows early traction on Ethereum and BNB Chain, where the products attracted more than $40 million in total value locked during their first four weeks, with later reporting citing over $45 million. Ondo separately reported more than $500 million in tokenized assets on Solana across its broader business.

Portfolio tokens can be transferred around the clock on Solana, but direct minting and redemption generally operate only between 9:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Eastern Time on regular U.S. trading days. The offering is available only to eligible investors outside the United States, with qualified-investor or professional-client requirements in jurisdictions such as the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

Ondo said it may introduce additional portfolios and expects compatible DeFi applications could use the tokens as collateral or in other financial products. The main near-term test will be whether Solana-specific inflows and secondary-market liquidity support the single-token portfolio structure.
