Pi Network has entered a pivotal stretch ahead of its first online Ecosystem Summit, scheduled for November 17–19, while its native token PI has bucked the broader market decline. The token rose 3% over 24 hours to nearly $0.08, even as much of the crypto market pulled back.
Core development efforts in 2026 have centered on protocol upgrades. The team deployed version 19.6, followed by v20.2, which laid the foundation for smart contract support, and later moved toward version 28. Although protocol v28 was scheduled for October 16, the team has not officially confirmed its activation. Some community observers, including X user Kim H Wang, claimed that after the October 17 upgrade, Pi Network now has the core blockchain infrastructure needed for smart contracts and public decentralized applications (dApps), adding that the network is 'ready for public dApp deployment.'
Other ecosystem progress includes Pi Desktop version 0.6.4, which enables remote access to SoloHost applications and removes earlier router and network configuration hurdles. Pi Network has also expanded into stablecoin territory through a partnership with Open Standard, the company behind OUSD, potentially bringing OUSD-based rewards and additional utility to the ecosystem.
The upcoming Ecosystem Summit is expected to feature new platform announcements, developer demos, existing dApp showcases, details on another hackathon, and direct discussions between developers and the Core Team. Additionally, Spanish-language posts from Axis Robotics suggest that Pi Network is 'more than just an investor,' with the companies exploring a technical integration focused on scaling physical AI.
On the price front, trader Crypto With Gopal noted a double-bottom formation near $0.074, with a breakout above $0.082 potentially opening a move toward $0.090–$0.092. Microsoft Copilot AI outlined a far more aggressive scenario: if PI secured a full unrestricted Binance listing with deep liquidity support by January 1, 2027, the token could reach $1.80 to $3.50, with a stretch target above $6. However, that forecast relies on a full bull market and remains purely speculative, with the outlook described as unlikely in the near term. Key support sits at $0.072–$0.075 and $0.065–$0.070, while overhead resistance remains in the $0.085–$0.10 zone.
