The New York Stock Exchange is expanding its network of transfer agent partners to support issuer-sponsored tokenized securities, signaling deeper integration between traditional financial infrastructure and blockchain technology. Broadridge, Computershare, Equiniti, and Superstate Inc. have joined the network, according to reports citing Fox Business correspondent Eleanor Terrett.
The initiative is part of NYSE's planned tokenization platform, which is still awaiting regulatory approval. NYSE aims to streamline trading of tokenized securities on its affiliated venues as more firms join the effort. This expansion is separate from the Tokenized Securities Venue efforts by OKX and ICE Markets, which have reportedly faced issuer pushback.
While the broader crypto market is showing mixed signals and trading volume for tokenized securities remains limited, NYSE's move could help build stronger regulatory frameworks and attract larger institutional players as regulatory clarity improves. The addition of established transfer agents is expected to support market liquidity and investor trust over time, although regulatory hurdles and market volatility remain potential risks.
