Key takeaways:

  • CAKE's 38-month burn streak signals deflation, but 0.339% monthly reduction needs volume growth to matter.
  • Flip's 88% fee retention may attract LPs, boosting volume and reinforcing CAKE's deflationary flywheel.
  • Mixed market may boost CAKE's deflation appeal, but watch volume sustainability and profit-taking risks.

PancakeSwap has published its October 2026 recap, confirming that 1.79 million CAKE tokens were burned during the month, while only 674,316 CAKE were minted. This produced a net supply reduction of 1,116,211 CAKE, or roughly 0.339% of total supply, and extended the platform’s streak to 38 consecutive months in which burns exceeded emissions.

According to the protocol, the cumulative deflationary effort has now removed about 16% of CAKE’s peak supply. PancakeSwap also reported record activity across its infrastructure, with the Infinity platform surpassing $150 billion in total trading volume and routing more than $1 billion in trades within 30 days.

The October recap highlighted several new features. The Flip feature allows liquidity providers on PancakeSwap v3 and Infinity to retain 88% of swap fees across 11 chains, aiming to incentivize deeper liquidity. Additionally, the newly launched Dual Investment feature on BNBChain lets users set target prices and dates to create structured earning opportunities.

While the broader crypto market has shown mixed signals, PancakeSwap’s ongoing supply reduction and product expansion may support community sentiment and attract users to the platform. Traders will likely watch whether these changes lead to higher engagement and influence CAKE’s price dynamics in the final quarter of the year.
