Two altcoin market updates on November 4–5, 2026, point to important technical tests. Kaspa (KAS) is retesting a broken descending channel on the weekly chart, while NEAR Protocol remains trapped in a descending price structure as derivatives exposure contracts.
Kaspa price setup and analyst targets
Analyst Lana Valentis noted that Kaspa is retesting a broken descending channel on the weekly timeframe, describing it as a clean second-chance entry for traders who missed the first breakout. She highlighted nearly 2.5 billion transactions, 566,000 wallets, and a new security tool that stress-tests contracts with real hostile attacks. Her target levels are $0.050, $0.075, $0.130, and $0.190.
A separate chart from Bullish Blueprint Signals placed KAS support near $0.028 to $0.030 after an extended descending trend, with resistance levels near $0.046, $0.076, and $0.13, plus a longer-term projected target around $0.20. At the time of the snapshot on November 3, KAS traded at $0.03135, with a circulating market capitalization of about $871 million and roughly 27.79 billion KAS in circulation. Approximately 96.8% of the estimated maximum supply of about 28.70 billion KAS had already been issued.
Analyst Jimmyyy emphasized Kaspa’s fair launch history: no premine and no insider allocation, with coins entering supply through mining. However, he cautioned that a fair launch does not guarantee equal ownership today. He also flagged a demand problem: lower issuance reduces dilution, but it leaves fewer new coins to pay miners, meaning the network’s security budget depends more on coin value and transaction fee demand. He assigned Kaspa an overall fundamental grade of B, with product/technology, token economics, and growth potential at B, but risk profile at C.
NEAR price and derivatives contraction
NEAR traded at $3.8413 on November 5, 2026, after a 4.28% decline. The token remains inside a descending channel that began after it reached approximately $6 in October. The latest recovery approached the channel’s upper trendline before sellers returned, leaving the bearish structure intact. NEAR is also below its 50-period and 200-period moving averages on the four-hour timeframe, and the four-hour relative strength index stood at 38.93.
Key technical levels include immediate support around $3.80–$3.85, lower support near $3.40, intermediate resistance around $4.20 and $4.40, dynamic resistance at the 50-period and 200-period moving averages, and major resistance near $5.00.
Derivatives data showed NEAR open interest at $533.6 million, down 7.14% over 24 hours. Binance held $181.3 million, Hyperliquid $170.7 million, and Bybit $124.5 million, together accounting for about 89.3% of reported open interest. The combination of falling price and declining open interest suggests deleveraging and weakening speculative participation rather than aggressive new positioning.
For Kaspa, the bullish scenario depends on the retest holding and a confirmed breakout, while the bearish scenario would put the $0.028–$0.030 support zone back in focus. For NEAR, a confirmed channel breakout, stronger spot demand, and stabilizing open interest would be needed to challenge the prevailing downtrend.
