Amex System Upgrade Sparks Ripple (XRP) Partnership Speculation

American Express (Amex) is undergoing a significant system upgrade, causing temporary delays in cross-border payments and wire transfers. While Amex has not disclosed technical specifics, crypto analysts speculate that the upgrade may involve Ripple's XRP-powered solutions due to their prior collaboration on cross-border payment trials.

Ripple and Amex previously worked together on payment solutions between the U.S. and U.K., leveraging RippleNet's infrastructure for speed and cost efficiency. Crypto influencer Versan of Black Swan Capitalist suggested the upgrade could signal deeper integration with Ripple's blockchain settlement technology.

Amex has also recently partnered with Coinbase to launch the Coinbase One Card, offering crypto rewards, further fueling speculation about its crypto ambitions. Meanwhile, Ripple's legal battle with the SEC appears to be nearing resolution, with CEO Brad Garlinghouse confirming the company is dropping its cross-appeal.

Despite the rumors, XRP's price has seen only a modest 1% increase in the past 24 hours. Analysts suggest that confirmation of an Amex-Ripple partnership could drive significant upside for XRP.
