Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization and son of U.S. President Donald Trump, made a bold prediction at the Bitcoin Asia 2025 conference in Hong Kong, declaring that Bitcoin will eventually reach a valuation of $1 million per coin. Speaking before a packed audience at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 29, Trump stated, "I really believe in the next several years, Bitcoin hits a million dollars. There's no question."
Trump revealed that he now spends 90% of his time engaged with the crypto community, marking a significant pivot from his traditional real estate and business interests. He emphasized Bitcoin's role as a global store of value, citing adoption by nation-states, Fortune 500 companies, and institutional investors. "Everybody wants Bitcoin, everybody is buying Bitcoin," he asserted.
In a controversial remark, Trump described China as "a hell of a power" in crypto despite its official trading ban since 2021, noting that both the U.S. and China are leading the digital asset race. He also praised the Middle East for embracing crypto "in a massive way."
Trump's appearance marked the Trump family's first at Asia-focused crypto events, with both Eric and Donald Trump Jr. scheduled to appear at major industry gatherings in South Korea and Singapore in coming months. Trump also highlighted his advisory role with Metaplanet, a Japanese Bitcoin treasury company that has become one of Asia's most visible corporate BTC holders.
Meanwhile, macro analysts are watching September's $2.35 trillion US Treasury refinancing cycle, which could create short-term pressure on Bitcoin. Analyst Rob Jones projects a 6-8% BTC dip in early September followed by an 11-12% rally from the month's low, based on historical refinancing patterns.
