GoTyme Bank, the Philippines' fastest-growing digital bank with over 6.5 million customers, has launched a groundbreaking cryptocurrency trading service directly within its mobile banking application. This integration, achieved through a partnership with U.S. fintech firm Alpaca, allows users to buy, sell, and hold 11 major cryptocurrencies without needing separate exchange accounts.

The service currently supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), Binance Coin (BNB), Cardano (ADA), and several other major altcoins. Transactions are facilitated through an auto-conversion from the Philippine peso (PHP) to U.S. dollars (USD). GoTyme CEO Nate Clarke emphasized the product's focus on "simplicity and reliability, designed for people who want to buy crypto confidently without complicated technical analysis or managing multiple apps."

This launch represents a significant bridge between traditional regulated finance and the digital asset world in Southeast Asia. As a regulated entity operating under the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), GoTyme's entry brings institutional-grade security and trust to crypto onboarding. The bank leverages its existing banking-grade security protocols, including multi-factor authentication and encryption, to safeguard digital asset holdings.

The strategic move comes as the Philippines demonstrates strong crypto adoption, ranking ninth on Chainalysis's 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index. GoTyme, a joint venture between Singapore's Tyme Group and the Philippines' Gokongwei Group launched in October 2022, is not currently optimizing for profitability but is focused on rapid growth and building an engaged customer base, with profitability targeted for 2027.

Looking ahead, GoTyme has plans to expand its digital banking services—potentially including crypto—into Vietnam and Indonesia, aiming to capture market share in Southeast Asia's burgeoning digital finance sector. The service currently focuses on basic buy/hold functionality within the GoTyme ecosystem, with external wallet transfers potentially introduced in future updates.
