On-chain data reveals a significant surge in XRP Ledger activity, with daily payments surpassing 500,000 and active user counts rising above 150,000 for the first time in weeks. According to XRPSCAN, the ledger processed approximately 508,000 payments on July 22, marking a return above the half-million threshold after several days of lower volumes. Additionally, on July 21, the network recorded around 157,200 daily active users, one of the highest participation levels this month.
The increase in transaction demand has been consistent; over the past month, daily payments have fluctuated between 400,000 and 700,000, indicating sustained network usage despite muted price action. Similarly, active user counts have remained in a 120,000–160,000 range, suggesting a solid base of genuine engagement rather than speculative spikes.
XRP’s price, however, continues to consolidate. The token is trading near $1.13, forming higher lows above $1.05 while facing stiff overhead resistance between $1.15 and $1.44. The 100-day and 200-day exponential moving averages cluster in the $1.23–$1.44 zone, reinforcing that area as a major barrier. Technical indicators show modest improvement—the price has reclaimed its 26-day EMA and the Relative Strength Index sits around 54—but a confirmed breakout remains elusive.
This divergence between robust on-chain metrics and subdued price action has traders closely watching key levels. A decisive move above $1.23 could shift momentum toward the psychological $1.30 mark, while a drop below $1.10 might accelerate losses toward recent lows. The growing network usage, echoing levels seen during previous bull markets, provides a bullish undercurrent, though price confirmation is still required to trigger a broader recovery.
